After building a career in front of the camera, (Heartland, Young, Drunk Punk, Cor Values, Black and Blue, KPAX, 24, Judging Amy, Everybody Loves Raymond, the indie film, Norma’s Lament among others), Melanee Murray-Hunt has worked to change the narrative and flip the script on what it means to be a marginalized woman in North America. Her stage work includes the play The Venus of Basin Street, The Hoodwink solo show (winner of three awards) and Conversations With Hair. Producer, director, writer credits include: The ‘Hoodwink, Race Anonymous- Blue Collar Jesus, & Do The Math. Actor producer credits are on Looking Back. Melanee is also working on social change, having just been certified by Mt. Royal University in the school’s Social Innovation Program, which is culminating into an innovation lab linking artists to social change.
