Sophie Jarvis is a Vancouver-based filmmaker whose award-winning films have screened internationally. She is a graduate of Simon Fraser University where she wrote and directed her short film The Worst Day Ever, which premiered in 2012 at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the award for Best Direction at the 2013 enRoute Film Festival. Since then, she has directed numerous short films, with the generous support of agencies like the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council, and Bell Media’s BravoFACT fund. She is currently in post-production on Medical Drama, a short film shot on 16mm that is slated for completion in late 2017. Jarvis holds a BFA in Film Production from SFU, and had the honour of participating in the 2013 Berlinale Talents. Sophie is developing her first fiction feature film, Invasions through WIDC Story & Leadership.
