Tricia Collins is an actress and filmmaker. She holds a Master of Arts from Metropolitan (formerlyRyerson) University’s School of Media and a BFA in contemporary theatre from SFU. Tricia completed the Bell Media and WGC Diverse Screenwriter’s program, under the mentorship of Sarah Dodd. Her short film Clinch premiered at the Richard Harris Film Festival in Limerick, Ireland where it was nominated for best Cinematography and then won for best actress at the Women in Film International Film Festival in Vancouver. Tricia directed Infect Me Not, a dystopian short film about young lovers. Her first short film REACH, was inspired by her late father!s receding memories, and has screened at the WIFT International Showcase, Vancouver International Women’s Film Festival, the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, the Female Eye Film Festival and the NSI online Film Festival. She was a playwright and theatre producer at Marie Clements’ company urban ink productions for 8 years. In 2008, she wrote, produced and performed in her one-woman play Gravity, which has toured internationally to Trinidad, Montreal and opened Carifesta the Caribbean Festival of the Arts in Guyana garnering high acclaim and attending by the President and other dignitaries.
